Everyone was hard at work in the office, the only sounds the click of the keyboards, the whir of the photocopiers, and the occasional crackle of paper.
Until the phone rang.
Mandy answered it, got as far as hello, and then the rant began. She lasted a minute before slamming it down.
Bob looked at her questioningly.
"It was some old guy, going on about blasphemy, and the Elder Gods, and how society wasn't corrupt enough, and if we don't change our ways we'd all feel the wrath of His Mighty Tentacle."
"Ahhh." Bob nodded sagely. "Don't worry about it. It was just a holy carp."
And then, because it was Halloween, some black cats wandered past the window, but no one noticed.
