Today, the island provided them with hats. Which was rather kind of it, really.
Unfortunately, the hats in question were a bit flat, and hard to position on one's head, and so the staff fiddled with them for a while to make them work.
All that hard work was for naught, though, when the elk arrived, and took a bite out of every single one of them.
"Oh," Ida sighed, "Flat bread."
