fh_officeThe entire office staff was dressed oddly today. They were in costume, see. The lighting was low, the corners of the office were shady and the woman who normally wore too much make-up was wearing a cocktail dress.
It wasn't a pretty sight.
Bob Gremlin and Fred Trooper were wearing trenchcoats and fedoras over their usual attire. Noir music hung around in the room like a bad smell that wouldn't go away. The kind you got after leaving a half-eaten burger in your desk drawer for safekeeping for a week because you got distracted by some dame and her lost bird statue.
But Bob and Fred didn't have time to think about bad smells or kitschy music. They had a case to solve. Someone had taken the last danish from the box, and it was up to these two hard-boiled detectives to figure out who, before they became scrambled. Or possibly poached. Maybe with a little lightly buttered toast.
