Well, a black kitten.
They were still terrified. Friday the thirteenth plus back cat equalled CERTAIN DOOM if it crossed their path, and so they were literally falling over each other in their desperation to avoid it.
The poor kitten was mewing sadly while it tried to rub against their legs.
