Fandom High Office, Tuesday afternoon

With Bob Gremlin and Venus distracted by attempted wooing, the office was a relatively normal place this afternoon. Normal enough to stop by and ask some workers what they do for a living or something.

Fred Trooper was currently at the front desk, kicking ass at Minesweeper.

After the fun of being kidnapped in Scoobying, the office felt almost safe.

Angela tapped on the front counter. "Excuse me, I'm supposed to interview someone from the office staff for the school newsletter?"

Fred Trooper looked up at Angela. "Did you fill out the proper form?"

Gus from the attendence office called out, "We don't have a form for being interviewed, Fred!"

"Give me five minutes and I can make one," Fred Trooper grumbled. "Okay, fine, soldier. No form needed. Interview away."

"Okay," Angela said, pulling out her notebook. "First, how many people work here and what are their names?"

She'd get around to asking why a trooper cared about forms in a few questions. Really.

"I've never been able to get an accurate headcount," Fred Trooper said. "It seems like they pop up out of nowhere sometimes. To help with that, I designate numbers to them as I spot them. W015 just addressed me a moment ago."

"Do they mind being addressed by numbers?" Angela asked. "Sounds kind of cold."

"It's a compromise. I address them by numbers and they can call me 'Fred' instead of 'Trooper CM0122489X Beta'," Fred Trooper explained. "It's easier for everyone that way."

Angela had her doubts about that, but she just nodded and wrote down the answer. "So are you the office manager, Fred?"

"Officially, no. I'm in charge of residential issues," Fred Trooper said. "But the other workers like to have me up front. Seeing a soldier in armor keeps students from going back and talking to them. They don't like talking to people. They're like small woodland creatures."

Bucky Squirrel ran up and across Fred Trooper's desk before scurrying back to his office. "Only one of them actually is a small woodland creature, though."

Angela gaped at the squirrel. "What other species do you have, er, employed here?"

"We also have a gremlin and an alien from Venus, species undetermined," Fred Trooper said. "As well as human, of course, both living and skeleton. But the skeletons only come out on federal holidays if I have anything to say about it."

"Naturally," Angela said, writing quickly.

Well, of course she wouldn't expect the FH office staff to be normal.

"What's the funniest thing to ever happen here?"

[fh_office]

"Last week three workers wore mittens and had issues with their phones. That could be considered funny to some people," Fred Trooper said.

Angela faked a laugh, even though she didn't understand how it was funny. At all. "And what's the most important thing for students to know when we have to work with the office staff?"

[fh_office]

"Remember to fill out the proper forms. In order to organize the office better, I've made one hundred and five new forms since I've been here. Would you like to see the form for Using a Large Turtle to Carry a Rock?" Fred Trooper asked.

He immediately produced a piece of paper with the following text on it:

Angela took the form and scrutinized it like she was being tested. "I'lll keep this in mind in case I ever need to have a turtle carry anything," she promised. "What do these letters mean? Icy and oh-oh-see?"

"It's a comprehension test," Fred Trooper said, looking at Angela critically to see if she was comprehending. Not that she'd be able to see that due to the helmet. But still.

Angela tried to look very very smart because, really, she had no idea. "Hmm." she said. "Interesting."

"Anything else I should know before I go?"

[fh_office]

"If you're attacked by a bear, try to make yourself appear as large as possible," Fred Trooper said. "But the same thing doesn't apply to Wookiees."

Ange now Angela was even more confused. Poor girl.

"I'll remember that. If I ever meet a Wookiee."

She was closing her notebook, readyiing to leave. "Thanks and bye, Fred."
