Bob Gremlin stood poised on a desk in front of Venus, ukelele in hand. He gave a strum of the ukelele to get her attention and there was a flash of white. "NOW!" Fred Trooper yelled, tackling Bob Gremlin. Two office drones rushed over and took the ukelele away and ran off while Fred Trooper put duct tape over the gremlin's mouth. Whether this was to prevent him from trying to sing or trying to bite was debatable, but it did the job either way.

"You didn't fill out the Request to Play a Ukelele Badly in the Office form," Fred Trooper said.

He had just spared the ears of everyone in the room.

Bob Gremlin pouted. Plan C it would be!

I had a friend who bought a ukelele, convinced that he should be able to play it with ease. He had never played a ukelele before. He didn't even know how to play guitar. It just seemed to him that he should be able to play a ukelele. As it turned out, he had no clue how to play a ukelele.

That's why I find ukeleles so funny. That, plus "ukelele" is one of the very best words in the history of language.
