After yesterday's moose-related violence, the radio was still on the floor. Occasionally, it blurbled complete nonsense into a small pool of coffee Ida had spilled a while ago for reasons that were, as far as the narrator can gather, completely and utterly irrelevant.

Occasionally, someone would toss a piece of gum at it for no discernible reason.
