The staff didn't realise that they had simply been replaced with perfectly transparent glass until they started walking into the walls. Everywhere, where they least expected it: glass panes.
Eventually, by afternoon, they'd found a solution. Bouncy balls.
They simply released a whole several crates of them into the office, and voila! The walls could be found!
Of course, they didn't realise that that meant they'd just released a mountain of random, uncoordinated projectiles into the office until much later.
